Item: Excavated US Belt Buckle - Stud Hooks - High Quality
Construction: Stamped thin sheet brass with raised letters "US". Rear with solder fill and stud type belt attachment hooks.
Condition: Excellent, excavated. Its brass front has a very pleasing chocolate brown patina. The rear has a complete complement of solder and all three attachment hooks are present. The plate retains its original body curve and has no cracks, breaks, bends, or repairs.
Recovered: Orange County, VA
Approximate size: 53 x 83 mm.
Comments: If you are interested in a very high quality excavated US buckle then this one is for you. This example will be an excellent addition to any excavated Civil War buckle, plate, or general relic collection.
