US Belt Buckle and Miscellaneous Relics Dug from the Same Hole
This group of excavated relics, recovered in Spotsylvania County, VA., all came from one hole and have been in the same case since that time. Included are the following items:
- US belt buckle - stud hooks, dark patina, partially melted out solder, crack in raised letter "S" and also along "S" outer edge. Minor rim crack below letters "US". Rear has all three belt attachment hooks present.
- Melted solder and Gallager carbine cartridge remnants.
- Iron underwear button.
- Small equipment rivets (one with iron nail attached).
- Large brass finial.
- Three complete general service eagle cuff buttons,
- Brass belt end tip for carbine sling.
- Suspender buckle.
- Several iron nails.
- Several Iron underwear buttons.
- Iron cartridge box roller buckles (rusty and fragile)
- Bone fragments. case will be included, and these items will be an excellent addition to any excavated relic collection.
Its original 8-1/4 x 12-inch glass top case will be included, and these items will be an excellent addition to any excavated relic collection.
