Item: US Waist Belt Buckle - Arrow Type Hooks
Construction: Stamped thin sheet brass with raised letters "US". Rear with solder fill and brass arrow belt attachment hooks.
Condition: Very good, excavated. Its brass front has a tan-brown patina. The rim is complete with very minor dents. The rear solder is complete. All three hooks are present and secure. There are no cracks, breaks, bends or repairs.
Recovered: Quantico, VA area.
Approximate size: 55 x 86 mm.

Comments: This buckle was acquired directly from the Virginia digger. Included is a scanned image of the digger (on left), with his hunting buddies and their detectors dating to the 1970-80s. It will be an excellent addition to any excavated Civil War buckle, plate, or general relic collection.
