Item: US Waist Belt Buckle - Arrow Type Hooks
Construction: Stamped thin sheet brass with raised letters "US". Rear with solder fill and brass arrow type attachment hooks.
Condition: Very good, excavated. Its brass front, with its distinctive tall letters, has a brown patina. The rim is fully intact with a minor upward bend at the letter "U" end. The rear has a near complete complement of solder with a few areas of surface flaking. All three belt attachment hooks are present and bent to the back.
Recovered: Petersburg, VA area.
Approximate size: 58 x 88 mm.
Comments: This US waist belt buckle will be an excellent addition to any excavated Civil War buckle, plate, or general relic collection.
