US Bridle Rosette
Item: US Bridle Rosette
Construction: Stamped sheet brass with raised letters "US", rear solder fill, iron wires.
Condition: Fair, excavated. Solid piece. The front has a chocolate brown patina with a rust-bump on the "U". Various areas of the rim are either missing or damaged. The rear contains a layer of solder behind what is remaining of the front. The attachment wires are missing. No repairs.

Approximate size: 1-1/4-inch diameter.

Comments: This rosette was included with a collection of other excavated Civil War relics acquired by Virginia Relics. Many of the items were recovered from Virginia and Pennsylvania. This example will be an excellent example to add to any excavated Civil War campsite or general relic collection.
