US Cavalry Spur - Marked "Allegheny Arsenal"

This excavated marked US cavalry spur is in very good condition and was recovered in the area of Brandy Station VA. Constructed of cast brass, it now has a very pleasing woodsy-brown patina. Stamped into an outer strap plates is "ALLEGHENY ARSENAL" along with the number "1" which indicates size. The rowel is missing but this excavated relic has no cracks, breaks, repairs, or major bends. Most US issued cavalry spurs are recovered without marks and this example will be an excellent addition to any excavated Civil War cavalry or general relic collection. Approximately 3 x 4-7/8 inches.
