Retired Army Brigadier General Jack Mountcastle developed a life-long interest in Civil War history as a youngster growing up in Richmond, VA. Returning to Richmond after retiring from the Army, he has enjoyed searching for Civil War artifacts on private property with the permission of the landowner. He frequently uses displays of the relics he has recovered in lectures to students and to military groups.
