Sydney C. Kerksis

Sydney C. Kerksis (1915–1992) was a notable American Civil War historian, author, and retired U.S. Army Chief Warrant Officer. A fellow of the Company of Military Historians, he specialized in military accoutrements, particularly plates and buckles, and authored key reference works on the Atlanta Campaign. He authored the following:

• Plates and Buckles of the American Military, 1795-1874 (1974).
• The Atlanta Papers (Compiler/Arranger), a collection of Civil War essays published by Morningside Bookshop in 1980.
