This excavated bullet mold is approximately 4-3/4 inches in length and likely produced a small caliber round ball or bullet. It is from a collection that was primarily assembled from the Gettysburg, PA area. The device is constructed of iron which is now fused in its closed position from time spent out in the elements. Though rusty, it is complete, solid, and stable. It has not been repaired and will be an excellent addition to any Civil War campsite, battlefield, or general relic collection.
