Confederate One Dollar Note

This original Confederate one dollar note is in good condition and was engraved by Keatinge & Ball. Columbia S.C. On the front is the portrait of the junior senator from Alabama, Clement C. Clay. Click the preceding link to learn about Clement C. Clay. It is dated February 17, 1864 and hand numbered in black ink "4207". The rear is blank. The paper is light tan in color with creases, corner folds, wrinkling, smudging, edge nicks and a tear above the portrait of Clay. Borders are present on three sides. There are very small holes that run along some of the creases in the paper but are only visible if held up to a light. This note will come in a clear acid free envelope for preservation and display. It will be an excellent addition to any Civil War currency, campsite, or general relic collection.  Ref. Criswell T-71.
