These two Federal cavalry cuff buttons were recovered from Trevilians, VA by the late Jeff Jenkins. Both buttons were acquired directly from Jeff, an avid relic hunter who lived his entire life in Madison County, VA. The buttons measure approximately 15 mm and are in very good condition with chocolate brown patinas. Both have just enough gilt remaining to nicely high-light their shields with the letter "C". Their shanks are present and both appear to have the "EXTRA QUALITY backmark. One button has a tiny hole in its rim, otherwise there are no pushes, cracks, or repairs. These buttons will be an excellent addition to any excavated Civil War button or general relic collection.
