Item: US Cavalry Bridle Bit Boss
Construction:
Cast brass with raised letters "US" on a stippled background.
Use: Decorative device attached to both sides of a US regulation Cavalry bit. 
Condition: 
Excellent, excavated. Dusty green-brown patina. No bends, cracks, breaks, or repairs.
Approximate size: 1-1/4 x 2-1/8 inches.
Recovered: Brandy Station, VA.
